Fighting To Stay by P.J. Belden Exclusive Isalovesbooks Release Day Promo & Review

Life is never what we intend it to be. Unexpected events occur and pull us away from what we plan.

My life was headed down a path I was settling with. That was until I was told I had cancer.

But then he changed my life even more.
Just when I accepted my fate, I found myself wanting him, wanting everything I never thought I had.

Because of him, I found myself Fighting to Stay. *Author Note*

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Once in a while you will read a book and it will touch your heart and know it will stay with you forever, this is one of those books. The story of Donna is one that has literally touched me deeply. Donna is in her twenties and living with a god awful man named Vince, he doesn't care for Donna in a way she deserves. Her sister Hailey and brother Josh, really disliked him and with good reason, I saw him as a complete monster. Garrett is Donna's best friend, has been since they were six years old but one day he just ups and leaves without a word. Donna is heart broken and swears he will never have her heart again. She sees Garrett two years later when she attends an appointment and he's the Doctor telling her the news, she is shocked but he tells her wants to be there for her and offers to be there when she breaks the news to her family. Donna finds this strange but then he was her best friend for so long, she declines wanting to do this her way. This is more than a love story, it's about hope and miracles. Fighting to stay is a battle for so many. Donna has to fight for her life and Garrett wants her in his life. Garrett is an amazing man, to him Donna is everything, his whole world, the sun and the moon. There will never be anyone else for him. They have so much pain to overcome. The whole family is suffering because of that nasty man Vince although not all is as it seems in the beginning. Garrett just wants Donna to be happy, he knows she loves him as deeply as he loves her and Donna just wants Garrett, to be happy but she believes that he would be with someone else. Life is what you make it, grab it with both hands, tell the person next to you how much you love them, you never know what is around the corner. This book is must read and all proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Even writing this review my tears are starting to flow. This was a beautiful story written with love. No matter how many tears I shed I'm grateful that I got to read this book. Thank you P.J Belden for sharing your story with me.

To love someone no matter what
To be there for them with everything you've got
To not count the days but live your life
You have to stay and fight
To let love grow with each passing day
To try and smile keeping tears at bay
To just keep doing what feels right
You have to stay and fight
To feel the touch of your loved one
To dance to your favourite song
To hold them close real tight
You have to stay and fight
To have that one last cry
To never say goodbye
To close your eyes and say goodnight
The time has come there's no more fight

Writing has always been an outlet for me. Growing up, I'd write poems based on my moods or events happening around me. Eventually they grew from there. It was a great way for me to clear my head at night. A way to kind of shut down the day, so to speak. Now here I am so many years later, finally taking the leap into the author world. My husband has been my rock this whole journey. We've been married for eleven years and have three amazingly beautiful children (10, 8, 5). They are the reason I push myself as hard as I do. They are my reason to strive each day to be better, to give them better. We are currently living in a small town in Indiana, but we have lived in Alaska, Illinois, Georgia and Tennessee. Out of all the places we've lived, Alaska has been my favorite and most inspirational too. When I'm not writing, I'm chasing my three kids, a four year old Siberian Husky, or even sometimes my husband *winks*. We love having family craft day. If it is a down day, you can find me curled up with a good book or occasionally watching some television.**Our lives are like books. We've just got to write the story. So let's write the best one to hit the pages.**
